We Won, We Won!

Well, I was in Europe to watch the World Cup, and I was screaming with the rest of the Italians in Edinburgh, but Zidane stole the show! Nice work!

Scotland is. So beautiful. Words don't describe how much I wish I were still there, buying those cute flat shoes and walking in Glencoe and eating steak pies.

The weirdest transition is going to sixty degree weather to NJ, where we're having a horrible heat wave.

I was watching TLC's "Baby Story" today. It was a marathon. Who would want to watch more than one episode of women giving birth? It was painful. Anyway, I don't understand what makes couples want to go on that show. So stupid.

But the babies are cuuute!

ITALY!!

We won! We won! We won!

In your face, Germany!!

I'm happy. I was about to fall asleep, literally. And then miracles happened, Italy 2-0.

Ok, so I just packed my whole suitcase. My suitcase is like a bottomless pit; I was so happy that I could fit everything in it. I am soo ready to go. Tomorrow we're visiting Grandpa around 10, and then I'll come home and watch more of the Twilight Zone if it's still on and some of the World Cup before it's time to leave. And then my adventure begins.

Oh, and there's no way I'm eating haggis. In some pictures you think, Oh that looks like a nice loaf of bread. Or, that looks like a mutant potato. But no. Sheep stomach and oatmeal.

Don't Think Twice, Bob

I suppose I could write in my blog while I'm at Scotland, but to tell the truth, I highly doubt I will. I'm going to be having too much fun, and I'm too paranoid to use Internet Cafe's computers and stuff. I'll be checking mail, but you may not see some updates here for a while. So I'm going to be writing lots now to make up for it.

When I was packing I realized I wear mainly dark blue, black, and brown. So I threw in a funky lime green shirt. IDK. I've got all my jewelry (SP?), all my makeup, all my shirts ready. I need to pack sweaters and jeans now. Mom and I were trying to decide what to wear on the plane. I'm going to bring my Yankee PJs to change into when it's time to sleep. They'd better not to be showing a good movie on the flight. If it's like something with Joaquin Phoenix, George Clooney, Keanu Reeves, and Robert Downey Jr. then there's no way I could sleep. lol. Hopefully it'll be some crap like Aquamarine.

The Twilight Zone Marathon has been the highlight of the week. Last night we watched some classics, like the one with the gremlin on the airplane's wing. That was pretty freaky, but it was laughable too. However, The Twilight Zone still scares the hell out of me. I was screaming. ::is slightly retarded::

I've been debating whether or not to bring my Ipod. I know it's just going to cause me a lot of stress. I always misplace it, and I'm going to be so paranoid over losing it. How will I live without Bob Dylan though? Or The Smiths? My fav. Belle and Sebastian album isn't on my Ipod, thankfully. It's Push Barman to Open Old Wounds. Instead, I have it in rotation in my head. I loooove Slow Graffiti. Oh, Lord. SO maybe it's alright if I leave my Ipod at home. It'd just run out of batteries anyway. (If you're reading this and thinking about buying one, just don't. Ipods die every two minutes).

Well, I might post later but for now this is it. I'm going to watch the World Cup and get some more stuff together.

World Cup Musings

Happy Fourth of July, everyone.

I completely forgot about the fourth of July until last night when there were fireworks and firecrackers keeping me up into the wee hours of the morn'. However, this is good because if I can't sleep tonight I'll sleep lots on the plane tomorrow night. Then I won't be so exhausted in Edinburgh.

I'm really excited for this trip, but it feels unreal. Right now I'm going to post this and then watch the World Cup on ESPN. Germany vs. Italy, Portugal vs. France. I really want Italy to win for obvious reasons, but I'd be happy if Portugal won too. Really, if anyone beats the French, I'm fine. I'm not one of those Americans who say "freedom fries"; I'm kind of the opposite. I love French movies!! And I like Les Miserables. You know, I'm down with France. I actually want to go to Paris and Marseilles one day. It's just that I don't like the French football team too much. They look whiny. Plus, Portugal's shoes are banana yellow, and thus cooler than the French's.

Title

Well, I asked Kimya Dawson if "Eggshells" was her, and it's not!! Ahh! For a while we totally thought it was the Moldy Peaches. But it's not, so I guess it's probably just these kids in a basement who thought it was clever to put their song online and say it was by The Dead.

It's a bittersweet symphony, this life.
